Build

Build is a 45-minute highly targeted training session in which we teach you how to lift heavier weights properly. Think 8, 10 and 12 pounds to start versus CrossFit-style and benching 3x your body weight. The classes are carefully programmed to ensure we are working the body in a balanced way that yields results (stronger muscles) and avoids injuries.

We start slowly and focus on alignment and form. Over 4 weeks (3 sessions per week) we progress up in weight or movement complexity based on each individual’s needs and abilities. Like all Alkalign classes, the experience is customized and optimized for YOU.

The 12-session series will help you build muscle and master the exercises in alignment. Subsequent sessions are a way to continue to build your strength and stamina.

If you are in your home studio, there are a few pieces of equipment you need right away and buy/build your home gym over time when it comes to purchasing weights. 

  • Squishy ball (pilates ball)
  • Loop bands (a lighter resistance band is recommended)
  • Theraband
  • Weights - Light (2-5lbs), Moderate (8-15lbs) Heavy (12-25lbs). Your weights will depend on your body. We recommend starting with a lighter weight before picking up a heavier one. Listen to your body & start lighter.
  • Stable surface - our studio is built with a stable horizontal surface. At home, please have a wall, stool, chair, anything stable nearby when you take class. This is one of the most important props you can have AND USE at home!

We have bands, balls, and blocks for sale in our studio and on our website.

This module is very important and serves as your library of videos you can come back to anytime to clarify an exercise.

Travel-Friendly Build Classes

Take your Build classes with you with these travel-friendly build classes. You will need a theraband and a wall. Therabands are easy to travel with and is an all-in-one resistance prop.

The Client should consult a physician before participating in programs in person or via digital offerings or using the ZooSki facilities.

The Client understands and acknowledges that ZooSki, its owners, employees, instructors, and agents have no expertise in diagnosing, examining or treating a medical condition.

The Client understands that if she is pregnant or becomes pregnant a later date, she must have a doctor’s permission to participate in programs and must furnish evidence of such permission to ZooSki upon request.

The Client agrees to make payment for courses understands that there will be no refunds for amounts paid under any circumstances. ZooSki warrants that programs are not transferable unless otherwise specified. 

Non-Recording Agreement

You acknowledge and agree that any type of recording or transmission (video, audio, still photography, streaming, social media posting, etc.) of any Alkalign classes or activities, whether in person or online, is strictly prohibited without the prior written consent of an authorized corporate officer of Zooski parent company, Alkalign. This includes even temporary recording/transmission via services such as SnapChat, Facebook, or Instagram. For avoidance of doubt, individual instructors within the Alkalign System and locations are not authorized to provide such consent. Any violation of this policy is grounds for exclusion from participation in any Alkalign's activities. You further agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Alkalign, Zooski, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and instructors, from and against any claims, lawsuits or other actions, and all resulting loss, damage or cost of any kind (including reasonable attorneys’ fees), resulting from your violation of this policy.

By acknowledging this document and enrolling online, you voluntarily agree, on behalf of yourself, your heirs, personal representatives and/or assigns, and any minor child you may enroll: (a) to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury, illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death) that may occur to you or your family members in connection with or as a result of participation in Zooski’s programs (“Claims”); and (b) covenant not to sue, Alkalign, Zooski, its instructors, clients, and employees, from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto, based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Zooski, its system instructors, members, and employees, during or after participating in this Alkalign program.
